Hand spun pure Wensleydale - spun by 'Long Draw James' to traditional lace weight from our combed pure wensleydale top, Approximately 180m (197 yards) on 25g. James has recently featured in 'Ply' magazine with his beautiful hand spun, hand knit shawl.
James specialises in spinning lace and gossamer weight yarns specifically for lace knitting and fine weaving. He mostly spins these in a worsted style to ensure the yarn has excellent drape, strength and stitch definition, whilst also bringing out the natural lustre of the fibre.
Needle wise will depend on the project but I’d say something between 2.5-3.5mm for a shawl project.
